Húsey - Chronicle From an Arctic Island
Húsey
Húsey is a small island off Iceland’s remote northeast, farmed for some eleven hundred years. The area abounds in wildlife and traditionally the farmers have hunted seal in the rivers that surround the island and gathered eggs from the colonies of wild birds that roost on the river banks. Only two decades ago the island supported more than twenty persons. Now only one man remains and he, too, is giving up the struggle. The film examines the reasons for this sudden reversal.
