Ernst Goes Skating

It's winter. Ernst and Mother are going to skate on the frozen lake in the park. Ernst spies a sweet little ice princess zipping around on skates. Ernst takes his first strides on the ice - but cannot stop and falls in front of a roped-off area of thin ice. Ernst gets up again. The ice princess whizzes past him. Ernst follows her, as best he can.
