The birth of ‘Dogme.’ For two months, Danish director, Lars von Trier, turned an Art Museum into a living installation, developing the artistic principles that later fostered the award-winning feature films, "The Idiots" and "The Celebration." Fifty-three characters inhabiting 19 rooms - their moods dictated by the movements of unsuspecting ants in New Mexico - gradually transcended the subtle line between fiction and reality. As if under a microscope, basic human instincts were cruelly examined. Intercut with a fictional narrative that evolved during the exhibition, the actors reflect over the process. Shakespeare’s words that "all the world is a stage" have never been truer...
