Rites of Spring

Ancient Swedish fire and fertility rituals are catalysts for this interpretation of Stravinsky's legendary ballet score, "Le Sacre du Printemps." Early footage, drawings, collage animation and photos interact with historic backdrops. St. Walburga and a pagan night are evoked by Stravinsky's musical masterpiece, conducted by the brilliant young Finn, Mikko Franck.
