Voices From Bolivia

A story of daily life in a remote area of Bolivia as told by Mayda, a nine-year-old girl from Azurduy village. High in the Andes, the pace of village life is slow. There is no electricity; sanitary is very basic and there are no asphalt roads. Once a year the village is shaken from its lethargy. During a week-long market the village is filled with travelling salesmen and fortune tellers, and peasants who ride or walk down from the mountains to sell their products and celebrate the festival of Santiago.
