Sayonara
Sayonara
Somewhere in Denmark, Eyad, a Syrian refugee, is practicing Japanese. Alone in his room, he sleeps for days on end. Inam, his mother, is in the kitchen preparing Maklouba, a Middle Eastern chicken dish. Motherhood, family, escape and death are constant presences. Can we say farewell to what was in the past, and live in what comes next? Through silences, Sayonara explores the condition of being lost.
