Portrait of a House
Porträtt av ett hus
Why must we always strive for the clean, standardized and improved? A building in Malmö seems locked in the past. Behind its green door is a morass of decay, and an eccentric landlord who hates modernity. Because of landlord Bengt, the building has not been demolished or modernized like many others in the neighbourhood, and is a haven for people who don't want to live in ordinary buildings. Unsentimentally, the film explores notions of the modern and uniform versus the wry, worn and time-stained.
