Dreaming of Denmark
Drømmen om Danmark
What happens to the unaccompanied refugee children that disappear from Danish asylum centres every year? Film director Michael Graversen follows one of these young boys into the shady side of European society. Young Wasi came to Denmark when he was 15, spent three formative years there before his application was finally rejected. At the age of 18, and fearing for his life if sent back to Afghanistan, he flees to Italy where he lives on the street. The dream of returning to his friends and a safe future in Denmark drives his will to survive.
