Film from Heathen Land
Film fra Hedningeland
In the 1950s, cinemas were sinful places for many Norwegian Christians, although films made by missionaries were hugely popular. Those who were children at the time can now tell their stories. Some still collect money for the missions. We follow the daughter of a missionary as she returns to Madagascar looking for a boy who was in her father's film. This is about what the missionary films genre meant for a generation of Norwegians, and for our perception of the Other.
