Pål Eikrem has an everyday life as a friend, son, husband and father. But he has the incurable nerve disease ALS. He can communicate only with his eyes; the rest of his body is paralysed. Trapped in his body and dependent on 24-hour help, he has nevertheless chosen to prolong life with a respirator. His disease provokes black moods but he calls himself an eternal optimist.
