The King and the Crook
Gulosten - gangsteren som ble kongens venn
"Gulosten" is the story of the gangster Johannes “Gulosten” Andersen who became friends with Haakon VII, the King of Norway, during World War II. He was the most notorious criminal in Norway in the 1920s and 30s, but through extraordinary historical and personal coincidences during WWII, he ended up as a personal friend of the King of Norway. The documentary raises the question: How could he end up being protected by the King and parliament after the war, and even get a timber factory as a gift from the King of Norway, after killing two defenseless people in peacetime?
