Women in War
Lotat - Dokumentti naisista sodassa
The Finnish women’s voluntary auxiliary services contributed a great deal to the Finnish war effort during World War II, but never have those over 200.000 brave women been asked to tell their stories. In this film five of them tell about their experiences at the front, in hospitals etc. “When the bombing started we just couldn’t leave our position...My war ended when an ammunition train exploded nearby and I was badly injured”, remembers Laina Ojaniemi who served as a switchboard operator on the front line.
