Film Submission is Open

It’s a new year and hopefully lots of new films are awaiting to meet their audience! You can already submit your finished films to the 2023 edition of Nordisk Panorama Film Festival that takes place 21–26 September in Malmö. Read the regulations and licence agreement and submit via our website. We look forward to seeing your films!

Three Questions to Festival Producer Ylva Skarsgård

In 2023 we welcome Ylva Skarsgård as our new Festival Producer. She is taking the reins of our 34th edition of Nordisk Panorama Film Festival.

Hi Ylva, and welcome to Nordisk Panorama! How have the first few weeks been?
– I have had such a great welcome from the team. They are very generous with sharing their knowledge and I’m super excited to be a part of the short and documentary film world.

What’s your professional background?
– Most recently I’ve been working at the regional music institution Musik i Syd in Skåne, Sweden, where I’ve been involved in music festivals. Ystad Sweden Jazz Festival has given me great experience of how to organise a festival.

Is there a specific part of your new role that you feel extra passionate about?
– Connecting with people! I love working in a team. I really look forward to getting to know the industry and meeting the audience in Malmö. Film brings people together!

Meet Us at FIPADOC, Clermont-Ferrand, and DocPoint

We start the new year by visiting a few great festivals. Executive Director, Anita Reher, will be on the International Documentary Jury at FIPADOC 23–28 January. Market Manager, Maria Stoianova, and Festival Producer, Ylva Skarsgård, will attend Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival 30 Jan – 1 February and Impact & Workshop Manager, Lea Sørensen, will be at DocPoint in Finland while also holding this year’s first DocForward workshop 29 Jan – 2 Feb. Get in touch to set up a meeting.

Doc Forward & Nordic Rough Cuts

The fourth edition of Nordisk Panorama’s Doc Forward Talent Workshop is kicking off, with the first part taking place in Helsinki 30 January – 2 February. Twelve fantastic documentary projects from emerging Nordic filmmakers have been selected to participate in the 2023 edition. You can see the selected projects here.

On Thursday 2 February 10.00-13.00 the participants will attend the Nordic Rough Cut Session arranged in collaboration with, and taking place during, DocPoint Documentary Film Festival. January Film Tips
